Man beaten, robbed outside Second Avenue gas station

A Phenix City man was beaten and robbed Wednesday night outside a Second Avenue gas station, Columbus police said.

The 48-year-old man was walking through the parking lot of the Marathon Gas Station, 3600 Second Ave., about 9:15 p.m. when three suspects approached. The suspects began beating the man when he walked behind a Dumpster, taking an orange and gray bag from him that had his medicine in it, reports state.

An ambulance took the robbery victim to The Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

Police say the three suspects were 18- to 23-year-old black men. There is no further description. There have been no arrests.
