Columbus police busted a man Tuesday after they say he tried to sell stolen copper to a recycling plant.
Marquis Anthony Paul Boodoo, 23, is charged with burglary, attempted theft by deception, possession of tools during the commission of a crime and giving a false statement of ownership, reports state.
Police say Boodoo burglarized a Sheridan Avenue home and took about 22 pounds of copper. Boodoo then tried to sell the copper Tuesday afternoon for $44.96.
Boodoo signed a statement saying he owned the copper. When police were alerted to the copper sale, they responded to the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard recycling plant and found Boodoo with gloves, a flashlight, screwdrivers and wire cutters in a book bag, reports state.
