Man dislocates woman's finger, tries to grab officer’s gun

Columbus police say they arrested a man early Friday after he dislocated a woman’s finger and then tried to grab an officer’s gun during his arrest.

Archie Lee Wims, 53, is charged with removal of a firearm from a police officer, obstruction and battery, reports state.

According to police, Wims hit a woman three times during a fight at a Hunter Road home, dislocating one of her fingers in the process. Officers arrived at the home and tried to handcuff Wims, who grabbed an officer’s gun with his right hand.
