Two men accused of having almost $20,000 worth of cocaine pleaded not guilty Thursday in Columbus Recorder’s Court and were ordered held without bond.
Gerald Goodman, 21, and Richard Clark, 32, each face charges of trafficking cocaine and obstruction of an officer. Clark faces additional charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of drug related objects, jail records state.
Both men were arrested Wednesday night off Gleason Avenue after they ran from police. Officers later found three bags of powder cocaine and crack cocaine weighing almost 7 ounces, authorities said.
Officers were patrolling about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Gleason Avenue, off Forrest Road, in an unmarked car. They spotted four people standing around a car in the front yard of a home. Officers then stopped their own vehicle and got out, testified Officer Scott Taft.
