Motorists are advised to avoid 13th Street between 10th and 11th avenues this morning because of a wreck that downed a telephone pole.
Police say the one-vehicle crash happened about 3:30 a.m. today. The driver struck a telephone pole, partially snapping it.
The driver was taken to the hospital, Capt. Renee McAneny said.
“They’re having to put up a new telephone pole,” the captain added.

Crews surrounded the broken telephone pole this morning as a replacement rested yards away on 13th Street.
Traffic was being rerouted at 7:15 a.m. today. Drivers are advised to avoid 13th Street between 10th and 11th avenues.
