Columbus Police: Man accused of biting employees at Lowe's

Columbus police have arrested Christopher Newman, 34, of Phenix City and charged him with battery with physical visual harm. Officers say Newman bit Lowe's employees and also threatened them with a knife.

According to a police report, officers witnessed Newman, who has also been charged with shoplifting, fighting with employees.

This occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday at the store on Veterans Parkway.

Police say Newman tried to bust the rear windshield out of the police vehicle.
