Teen busted for contributing to delinquency of minor found with pot, gun

A 17-year-old accused of contributing to the delinquency of a minor was found Sunday night with drugs and a gun, Columbus police said.

Jamel L. Dunbar is charged with the contributing charge as well as possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, reports state.

According to police, officers responded about 8:45 p.m. Sunday to the Grand Reserve, an apartment complex at 1700 Fountain Court, about two people doing drugs in a van. Officers arrived and found Dunbar and a 16-year-old in the van.

Police say Dunbar told them he’d smoked marijuana that day. Officers then found a pistol and a Halloween mask in a bookbag inside the van. They also found a marijuana cigarette in the vehicle.
