Douglas Parris, 46, of Dorado Circle in Columbus has been charged with criminal attempt arson, criminal damage to property in the second degree and possession of tools in the commission of a crime.
Parris was arrested Monday at 5:32 a.m. when after a woman reported to police that Parris had vandalized her car.
Parris was detained by police at the McDonald's on Buena Vista Road.
According to the police report, Parris has several items on him that coincided with the damage done to the vehicle.

He was found with a bag of sugar, two cans of paint, a can of wood stain, a bottle of black shoe polish, a screw driver, a putty knife, a gas can, a funnel, two box cutters, two pairs of scissors and a four-foot metal pole that was covered in paint.
