Two men shot by unknown assailant in Phenix City

Phenix City police are investigating the shooting of two men by an unknown assailant Tuesday night.

Police Capt. Frank Ivey said the victims were 36-year-old Roderick Davis of Phenix City and 36-year-old Kenny Preer of Phenix City.

Davis was shot in the left leg and Preer was shot twice in the left side of the abdomen. Both were transported to The Medical Center in Columbus. Ivey said the wounds are not life threatening.

The men were shot with a pistol.

The shooting took place at 317 14th Court between 10 p.m. and 10:13 p.m.

Ivey said Davis was standing on the street and Preer was walking out of a house.

Nobody could give a possible reason for the shooting.

"There was no argument," Ivey said.
