Thomas Roberts of LaGrange, Ga., died Thursday in Atlanta after LaGrange firefighters pulled him from a flaming home at 138 Martha St., authorities said today.
The LaGrange Fire Department was summoned at 12:54 a.m. Thursday to the blaze. Rescuers rushed into the home and removed Roberts and one other person, whom police did not identify.
Both were taken to area hospitals before being transferred to facilities in Atlanta, where Roberts later died at Grady Memorial Hospital, investigators said.
LaGrange police said they believe the fire was started accidentally.
