Half of the approximately 150 soldiers in the company deployed Sunday evening. The mission of the company is to deconstruct facilities that are no longer functional or required which will help facilitate the Army's drawdown process in Afghanistan. The last deployment for the 63rd Engineer Company was in 2009.
