A driver who ran a stop sign Monday night was found with about a pound of marijuana, Columbus police said.
Clifford Thompson, 45, is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, reports state.
According to reports, an officer stopped Thompson after he ran a stop sign about 8:50 p.m. in the area of Andrews and Buena Vista roads. A police dog indicated that drugs were in the car, and an officer found about a pound of marijuana worth $4,550 on Thompson.
Thompson was arrested and taken to the Muscogee County Jail, reports state.
