Teen accused of carjacking now faces multiple armed robbery, assault charges

A teen arrested last week on a carjacking accusation now faces multiple armed robbery and assault charges, Columbus police said.

Reports state Iman Deloach, 17, was initially arrested June 5 on a count of hijacking a motor vehicle. Deloach is accused of approaching a woman early that morning outside the Pussycat Lounge on Victory Drive, aiming a gun at her and demanding she get out of her vehicle.

Police say they found the stolen car after a search, and then caught Deloach near Hawaii Way after a foot chase.

Police continued their investigation into Deloach and determined he’d been involved in eight other armed robberies in Columbus that began June 1. Officers charged Deloach on Sunday with eight counts of armed robbery, eight counts of aggravated assault, eight counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and a burglary count, reports state.

Reports state Deloach was with at least two other suspects during the robberies. Those suspects remain at large.
