Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant 2012 kicks off

10:30 p.m. The Miss Georgia talent winners are Miss Gwinnett County, Annie Wilson, and Miss Capital City, Leighton Jordan. They each win a $500 scholarship. The lifestyle and swimsuit winners are Miss Warner Robins, Courtney Walker, and Miss Cherokee Rose, Mary Ashley Tucker. They both win a $250 scholarship.

10:27 p.m. The Georgia Outstanding Teen preliminary winners are Miss Cobb County, Amelia Hunt and Miss Savannah River, Kayla Elise Kirkland in the lifestyle and fitness competition. The talent winners are Miss Golden Isles, Miranda Lanier Williams and Miss Capital City, Jameson Kirkland.

10:22 p.m. Miss Georgia 2011 Michaela Grace Lackey talks about what her year was like.

10:18 p.m. Former Miss Georgias who are present tonight are introduced. They are Miss Georgia 1969 Marilyn Olley, 1985 Samantha Mohr, 1998 April Brinson, 2000 Pam Kennedy and 2009 Emily Cook. They also announced that Miss Georgia 2008 Chasity Hardman just had a baby.

10:15 p.m. Miss Cherokee Rose's Outstanding Teen gets a do-over and sings "Something's Got a Hold on Me." Apparently, there was a glitch with the recorded music part of her song when she first performed.

10:04 p.m. The second half of the Gamma Group competed in talent tonight. They are:

Charlene Bibeau, Miss Georgia Southern University, played "Balade Mexicana" on pianoBrittany Parks, Miss Georgia State University, did aerial acrobatics to "E.T." 7:41 p.m. The Mu Group compete in swimsuit.

Tonight marks the first night for preliminary competitions in the Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant 2012.

Preliminary competitions continue through Friday in the Bill Heard Theatre, RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, 900 Broadway, with the 2012 Miss Georgia crowned by reigning Miss Georgia Michaela Grace Lackey Saturday night. Competitions begin at 7:30 p.m. each night.

The 33 contestants were broken into three groups a few months ago.

The Mu Group will compete in swimsuit tonight; talent on Thursday and evening wear on Friday.
