Man accused of urinating on street, passing out in vehicle

Columbus police arrested a man Tuesday afternoon on accusations he urinated onto a street before passing out in his vehicle, reports state.

Ervin L. Fleming, 64, is charged with DUI, disorderly conduct and having an open container, police said.

According to reports, Fleming got out of his 2012 Jeep Wrangler about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Lee Street and Clover Avenue, urinated on the road and then got back inside his vehicle. A witness called police, who responded to the scene and began asking Fleming questions.

Police say Fleming smelled of alcohol, and officers later found an open Icehouse beer in his vehicle. They also found half a bottle of Castillo Gold rum.

Officers arrested Fleming after he took a breathalyzer test, which indicated he had a blood alcohol content of .166, reports state. Georgia law states someone is prohibited from driving if they have a BAC of .008.
