Running late to vote? Get in line

Georgia polls don't close at 7 p.m. if people still are waiting in line to vote, but that's when the line ends.

With long lines stretching out the doors and around the corners of some Columbus polls, voters should remember that if at 7 they are in one of those lines, they will get to vote. Those who are not in line will be turned away.

Muscogee elections director Nancy Boren said a worker at each poll will go to the end of the line at 7 and guard it from latecomers.

Voters also should remember to bring a government-issued photo ID.
