Two laptop computers issued by Muscogee County School District reported stolen

Two laptop computers issued by the Muscogee County School District were reported stolen in different ways Wednesday, according to Columbus police reports.

A ThinkPad laptop computer valued at $1,100 was reported stolen Wednesday afternoon from Tillinghurst Adult Education Center, 514 Morris Road.

Detective Jessie Knight was working part-time security at the center when a teacher told him her laptop was taken from her classroom between 1 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.

The other laptop, whose brand and value aren’t mentioned, was reported stolen from a female Carver High School student Wednesday night.

At 8:36 p.m., Officer Joseph Bridges was dispatched to a Morehouse Street residence. The student’s aunt said, between 3 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Monday, some unknown person(s) took her niece’s laptop. The aunt said several individuals were in the home during the weekend while her niece was using the laptop for school work.

No suspects are listed in either case.
