TV blog: The Bachelor Sean Lowe says goodbye to Diana, Brooke and Katie on episode 2

Desiree was tricked, Robyn asked the race question and Katie decided to go home before the rose ceremony on the second episode of ABC's 17th season of "The Bachelor," with Sean Lowe. Lowe, a 29-year-old from Dallas, originally appeared as a bachelor on Emily Maynard's season of "The Bachelorette."

At the cocktail party before the rose ceremony, Robyn, who's black, decided to discuss the race issue with Sean. She said she noticed a more diverse group of girls were on this season's show. "I'm not totally and completely sure that Sean's attracted to black females," she said in a camera interview. "I love this question," Sean said. He said as a guy with a blond hair and blue eyes people always assume he wants to date women who look like him. Sean told her that he didn't have a "type" and that he'd dated Hispanic women, Persian women and black women. "I don't think he cares about color," Robyn said. She applauded him for not being uncomfortable with the question.

Desiree got the episode's second one-on-one date. The date featured a trick. Before the date, Sean said he wanted a woman with a sense of humor. "We're going to find out tonight if Desiree has that," Sean said. During the date, an art gallery "curator" told Desiree and Sean that a piece of art, actually worth about $5, was worth $1.5 million. Sean left the "curator" and Desiree alone in a room with the piece. "Huh, it's very interesting," Desiree told the "curator." Desiree didn't seem impressed but the "curator" told her the stained glass was recovered from Chernobyl. (So mean!) "I'm a bad person," Sean said, watching footage with Chris Harrison before the piece fell to the ground. The "curator" excused herself for a moment, leaving Desiree alone with the piece. When it crashed to the floor and broke, Desiree flashed a seemingly shocked and embarrassed smile to the camera and walked to the door. "I didn't touch that," she told an alleged cameraman on his way into the room to interview Desiree. The "artist" of the piece arrived next. He was convincing, cursing and seeming upset. Desiree swore she didn't touch a thing but she seemed to have tears gathering in her eyes. Sean decided that was enough and came to her rescue, explaining the piece wasn't real art and the gallery "employees" were actually with the show. "He got me pretty good," Desiree said.

"She handled the prank very well," Sean said. Her prize was a private steak dinner with Sean back at the bachelor's private house. "Des is comfortable in her own skin... maybe this will be a match," Sean said. The date ends with Desiree getting a rose and the couple sipping wine in the hot tub. They kissed.

Sean's group date featured 13 women who competed to be featured on the cover a Harlequin romance novel. Mostly the women seemed sad that Sean was not shirtless in all the cover photos. Leslie M. got to kiss Sean in her photo. Tierra also kissed Sean. Model Kristy won the competition and will appear on the cover of "Seduced" with Sean. Other women on the date included Taryn, Kacie B., Daniella, Katie, Robyn, Selma and Amanda.

After the photo shoot, Leslie M. and Sean shared another kiss and Kacie B. tried to convince Sean to move her from friend zone to potential girlfriend. Sean froze for a minute before saying he was excited to see where this would lead. Was he just being polite? We'll see! Nope, he gave Kacie a rose! Catherine told Sean she was "vegan but loved the beef." I'm not sure what that meant but given the awkward giggling afterward I'm assuming it was sexual. Tierra was separating herself a bit from the other women and Sean picked up on it. "I've never pursued a guy that 25 other girls are going after," she told Sean when he asked is she was feeling uncomfortable. "I want you to hang around," Sean said.

Katie leaves! "I feel excessively uncomfortable here," Katie told Kacie B. She told Sean that she wasn't adjusting very well. She said it wasn't the right setting for her and she wanted to go home. Sean walks her to a waiting limo, so she can go home.

Sarah, a 26-year-old with one arm, had the first one-on-one date of the season. In true "Bachelor" style, Sean picked up Sarah in a helicopter. Sarah was pleased to have the first date. "My ability to love someone is not affected by how many hands I have," she said.

"Sarah and I just immediately clicked," Sean said about choosing her for the first date. He was impressed with her ability to address her missing arm.

The date begun at the top of a tall building in Los Angles. Sean and Sarah were suited up together in a special two person zip-line-looking contraption and dropped 35-floors. It appeared to be a more gentle ride than a free-fall or bungee jump but it still looked terrifying. On the ground, a champagne toast awaited the couple. Sarah called the experience, "incredible."

"It's what's on the inside that matter to Sean. He's the perfect guy for me," Sarah said. She loved that he didn't hesitate taking Sarah on an adventurous date. She shared a painful story about a time that she tried to go zip lining in Las Vegas with her father and wasn't allowed because of her disability.

"I had some pretty high expectations for today and I can't imagine having more fun than I did today," Sean said. "Sarah has blown away my expectations... It's such an exciting feeling," Sean said. They shared a kiss at the end of the date. "I feel like I'm falling in love with Sean," Sarah said.
