Crack cocaine tip leads to firearm possession near a school arrest

Two boys were arrested Thursday afternoon for possession of a firearm near a school after police received a tip that someone was selling crack cocaine near 24th Street, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Officers arrived at the intersection 24th Street and 14th Avenue after receiving a tip that two boys were selling crack cocaine. One boys was described as wearing a black skull cap with a grey jacket. The other was described as wearing all black.

Police found one of the men in front of The Game Room. The other man, who was inside The Game Room, had a Taurus Special firearm with him, which was unregistered.

Both boys were juveniles, and were not named. The one with the gun was charged with possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a school, Hannan Academy being the closest school. He was transported to Muscogee County Jail.
