Miss Alabama USA 2012 Katherine Webb joins cast of reality TV competition 'Splash' on ABC

Well, that didn't take long.

You can now add "celebrity diver" to Katherine Webb's list of accomplishments. Miss Alabama USA 2012 will appear on the ABC reality TV competition "Splash," formerly called "Celebrity Diving."

The network on Friday announced the first round of celebrities joining the show. The list also includes names like Kendra Wilkinson and Louie Anderson.

"Ten celebrities will train and compete in regulation platform and springboard diving at dizzying heights in front of a weekly poolside audience," according to ABC's summary of the show. Judges will critique their dives. Learn more here.

Webb, who was raised in the Columbus-Phenix City area, achieved Internet fame earlier this month when she watched her boyfriend, AJ McCarron, play for the University of Alabama in the BCS National Championship.

McCarron is the starting quarterback for the University of Alabama. Webb graduated from Auburn University.

The headline-making moment came about 30 minutes into the game, when ESPN's camera turned to Webb. Sportscaster Brent Musburger offered some comments best summarized as "interesting."

"You quarterbacks, you get all the good-looking women," said Musburger, whose age is listed as 73 on Wikipedia. "What a beautiful woman."

ESPN later apologized for the comments.

In addition to joining the "Splash" cast, Webb will also cover the Super Bowl for "Inside Edition" and appear in this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

ABC's "Splash" is different from "Stars In Danger," another recent show that featured a celebrity diving competition.
