Cirque du Soleil comes to Columbus

Cirque du Soleil, one of Canada's most popular exports, features acrobats, aerialists, comedians, singers, dancers and musicians. But this circus has no animals.

Cirque's "Quidam" can be seen at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. May 11 and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 12 in the Columbus Civic Center. Instead of its familiar yellow and white tent, this show has been reconfigured for an arena tour.

"Quidam," first presented in 1996, is about Zoe, a bored young girl who slides into an imaginary world she calls Quidam. She meets magical people on her journey, who urge her to free her soul.

Tickets are $37.50-$102.50; $30.50-$82.50 for children ages 12 and younger; $34-$92.50 for military personnel, seniors 65 and older and students. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 15.

Call the box office at 706-653-4460. To order tickets through Ticketmaster, call 800-745-3000.

Tickets are also available at Publix grocery stores. Tickets sales there are cash only, and there will be a service charge.
