Columbus Council will be asked this evening to approve a five-year lease with Columbus Regional Healthcare Inc. for medical office space at 2000 10th Avenue for a city employee medical clinic.
Council, which meets at 5:30 on the Plaza Level of the Government Center, has already approved a contract with TransformHealthRX to operate the clinic.
City Manager Isaiah Hugley and an evaluation team looked at 10 sites and settled on the 10th avenue site, according to city documents. Rent for the space will cost the city $2,914 a month, almost $1,000 less than was originally estimated.
City leaders estimate the clinic will save the city more than $1 million in the first year by reducing the cost of employee medical claims.
