Robber beats 64-year-old man with pistol at 2nd Avenue law office

A 64-year-old man was beaten with a pistol at a law office on the 800 block of Second Avenue Thursday during an armed robbery, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

The man told police that at about 5:20 p.m. a man came in through his front door and pointed a pistol at him. The suspect then beat him with his fist and the pistol, busting the victim's nose.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot 10 black man who weighs about 220 pounds. During the robbery, the man reported he was wearing a German style cap with ear flaps, a beige coat with a brown string in the hood and dark pants.

No suspects have been named so far. Items stolen were not listed in the report.
