A man was arrested and charged with marijuana possession after attempting to flee on foot near Cusseta Road Monday morning, according to a Columbus Police Department report.
An officer was patrolling in the area of 29th Avenue and Cusseta Road at about 4 a.m. when he noticed a gray Crown Victoria run a stop sign. The officer attempted to stop the car near Betjeman Drive and Lee Street, but Devoris Lockhart, 29, left his vehicle and ran.
After stopping Lockhart two blocks away in a vacant building, assisting officers found a marijuana cigarette in the floorboard of Lockhart's car. The amount of marijuana was estimated at one gram.
A check of Lockhart's records showed that his license was suspended with multiple violations, the most recent of which he was charged with on Jan. 19. His license was suspended on Jan. 10, according to the report.

Lockhart also had an outstanding warrant out for violation of probation.
Lockhart was possession of marijuana and obstruction. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
