American Idol results: American Idol Season 12 Top 10 revealed

We're down to 10.

When "American Idol" revealed this season's top 10 singers Thursday night, there weren't too many surprises. I'm happy to admit (brag?) that I predicted nine out of 10 singers correctly. The one I missed? Paul Jolley.

The top 10 finalists are: Paul Jolley, Burnell Taylor, Curtis Finch Jr., Devin Velez, Lazaro Arbos, Janelle Arthur, Candice Glover, Angie Miller, Amber Holcomb and Kree Harrison.

And, of course, there's a twist. Of the singers who didn't advance, the top two vote-getters -- one male, one female -- will have a sing-off next week to win a spot on the "Idol" tour. What do you think of the idea?

Thursday's results show had an interesting format. Host Ryan Seacrest revealed the results in a backstage space where the audience couldn't hear what was happening. Upon learning they advanced, contestants each walked on stage, surprised the audience and performed a victory song.

Almost 39 million votes were cast this week, Seacrest said. Here are the contestants who advanced to the Top 10, plus their victory song. Did the right singers advance?

Paul Jolley ("Alone" by Heart)

Burnell Taylor ("Ready For Love" by India.Arie)

Curtis Finch Jr. ("So High" by John Legend)

Devin Velez ("The Power of One" by Israel Houghton)

Lazaro Arbos ("Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel)

Janelle Arthur ("Home" by Dierks Bentley)

Candice Glover ("I'm Goin' Down" by Mary J. Blige)

Angie Miller ("I Was Here" by Beyonce)

Amber Holcomb ("I'm Every Woman" by Chaka Khan)

Kree Harrison ("Evidence" by Susan Tedeschi)

My prediction for the top 10: Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, Janelle Arthur, Burnell Taylor, Lazaro Arbos, Devin Velez, Curtis Finch Jr. and Charlie Askew (on a serious sympathy vote).
