A man faced charges of criminal trespass and interfering with government property during a 9 a.m. Recorder's Court hearing after he was arrested for refusing to leave a Rosemont Drive residence without his child's clothes.
Davonte Murphy was arrested at about 3 p.m. Wednesday after he refused to leave a residence on the 900 block of Rosemont Drive. Murphy's ex-partner, who was a witness in the case, told the court that Murphy was there demanding clothes and other items that he had bought for their child.
When officers arrived, police told Murphy he would have to settle the matter in civil court. He refused to leave and was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.
When police began transporting Murphy to Muscogee County Jail, he started banging his head against the window and divider in the squad car, and eventually kicked out one of the rear windows.
