Recognizing both "Southern favorites" and "some surprisingly stellar Asian options," Movoto, a California real estate website, has tackled the eternally important question: Where's the best place to eat in Columbus?
The list has been seen more than 17,000 times; and it's been shared, commented on or liked by Facebook users more than 3,000 times. Rather than settling any discussion of "bests," the list has started it all up again.
Movoto's list of 15 restaurants is slanted toward ethnic choices such as Sumo, La Mexicana, Pho Vy II and Taj Mahal -- about which Brian Arthur writes, "There are a grand total of two Indian restaurants in Columbus, but residents are still spoiled when it comes to authentic Indian cuisine if they hit Taj Mahal every so often."
The Southern-style Buckhead Bar & Grill, Skipper's and Minnie's Uptown also get mentions. The hush puppies at Ezell's get their own spotlight: "No place in Columbus does the Southern delicacy better."
Downtown gets some representation as well, with all the usual favorites: The Black Cow, The Loft and Chili Thai. Arthur writes, "Among locals, The Black Cow is one of the most beloved" restaurants.
Comments include "What a terrible list" and "This list is terrible" and at least one person has already complained that Country's didn't make the cut.
