Phenix City man, 22, accused of torturing 2-year-old boy

A Phenix City man is accused of torturing a 2-year-old boy at a home in the 600 block of Lee Road 307, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.

Zachary Ryan Tadlock, 22, is charged with torture and willful abuse of a child and domestic violence assault third degree. He is held on bonds totaling $26,000 in the Lee County Detention Facility.

None of the child’s injuries is life-threatening but the boy is being monitored by medical personnel.

The charges stem from a Thursday call that authorities received from the boy’s mother. Deputies and medical personnel went to the home and found the boy suffering from multiple knots, bruises and reddish marks all over his face, chest, legs and other parts of his body. Evidence collected during the investigation led to Tadlock’s Friday arrest.

What led to the boy’s injuries remains under investigation.
