18-year-old dies in a dirt bike crash near Phenix City, Alabama officials say.

An 18-year-old is dead after getting in a crash while riding a dirt bike Saturday evening near Phenix City, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

ALEA said the 18-year-old was critically injured after the dirt bike the teen was operating hit a pickup truck on Woodland Drive near Wiggins Lane, about a mile south of Phenix City.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. identified the teen as Rylee Thrash, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 10:25 p.m. Saturday.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division was investigating the crash, according to a news release from the agency.
