Wind and rain did some damage in Columbus and surrounding areas Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, from midnight until late afternoon, 1.6 inches of rain fell in Columbus.
As many as 996 Georgia Power Customers lost power in Columbus.
According to Georgia Power spokesman Robert Watkins, the outages were scattered among 39 locations in town.
A few areas affected were Wellborn Drive, where falling trees brought power lines down, Victory Drive and the Wynnton Area.
Columbus Public Services Director Pat Biegler said damage is still being checked out. She said 21 calls were received about falling trees. She said she only heard of one tree falling on a house. There was no report of injuries.
"Most of the damage was in south Columbus and east Columbus," she said.
She did not receive any reports of flooding.
