Williamson leads Cottonmouths to six straight win

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Bryce Williamson scored two goals Saturday night to lead the Columbus Cottonmouths to a 3-2 win over the Mississippi RiverKings.

The Cottonmouths (6-7) have now won six in a row after losing the first seven games of the season.

Williamson got things started for the Cottonmouths late in the first period. He scored with 42 seconds left on assists from Neilsson Arcibal and Matt Gingera. The trio team up again at 13:55 of the second period when Williamson got his second goal and put the Snakes up 2-0.

Less than a minute later the Cottonmouths' Kyle Thomas found the net on an assist from Shawn Bates at 14:26 and the Snakes were up 3-0.

The RiverKings finally got on the board at 19:25 of the second period on a goal by Dylan Quaile with assists from Byron Paulazzo and Devin Mantha.

Mississippi pulled to within a goal at 2:31 of the third period on a goal by Matt Whitehead with an assist from Quaile. The RiverKings pulled their goalie with 1:10 left but couldn't get the tying goal.
