Summers paces Rivermen to 7-1 victory over Cottonmouths

PEORIA, Ill. -- Matt Summers scored three second period goals Friday night to lead the Peoria Rivermen to a 7-1 win over the Columbus Cottonmouths.

The Cottonmouths got their lone goal at 19:17 of the second period from Matt Gingera on an assist from Bryce Williamson. That closed the lead to 2-1, but the Rivermen scored four times in the second period and the rout was on.

The two teams meet again tonight at 8 p.m.
