Columbus State softball splits with West Florida

Lindsey DeFee singled in a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Columbus State a 3-2 win in Game 2 of a doubleheader against West Florida.

West Florida won the first game 4-3.

Kristen Carr (6-3) picked up the victory in Game 2. She pitched three innings of shutout relief. She allowed just one hit.

Kia Smith had two hits.

In the first game, CSU had a 3-0 lead after two, but DeFee and Carr couldn't hold it. Carr was tagged with the loss after giving up runs in the sixth and seventh.

Kailey Boone hit a homer for CSU.
