ENTERPRISE, Ala. -- Chattahoochee Valley Community College got strong pitching from Bryce Conley and Landon Faulkner and timely hitting late in sweeping both games of a doubleheader from Enterprise State, 5-1 and 7-5.
In Game 1, the Pirates picked up single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Enterprise State pulled to 2-1 in the third innng.
CVCC scored three times in the eighth inning, the final run coming on J.T. Thomas' RBI single.
Ryan Hagan and Hunter Webb were each 1-for-3 with an RBI. Grayson Ivey went 2-for-4.
Conley (2-1) gave up one run on three hits and struck out eight in the 5-1 win.
In Game 2, Kenny Ford went 3-for-4 and drove in a run to pace the Pirates' 7-5 victory.
The Pirates broke open a 2-2 game with a single run in the fifth and two runs each in the sixth and seventh innings for a 7-2 lead.
Nolan Greckel and Evan Troutt each went 2-for-4. Greckel drove in one run. Troutt drove in two runs.
Faulkner (3-3) gave up two unearned runs in six innings for the win. He struck out four. Ryan Hagan recorded his second save of the season.
No. 22-ranked CVCC (11-6, 2-0) hosts Enterprise State for a doubleheader today beginning at 1 p.m.
