Alabama scored five runs on one hit in win over Lipscomb

MOBILE, Ala. -- Taylor Guilbeau pitched 8-plus innings to lead Alabama to a 5-1 win over Lipscomb on Friday night in the first game of a series at Hank Aaron Stadium.

He allowed just one run and struck out six as he pitched into the ninth inning. He allowed the first two batters to reach and was taken out of the game. Thomas Burrows came in and retired the three batters he faced to close out the win.

Alabama scored all five of its runs in the seventh inning on one hit.

The Tide had just three hits in the game, two by Casey Hughston, who is hitting .538.

The two teams played again late Saturday night. They will finish the series Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
