College baseball roundup: 8-run seventh inning get Dogs a win

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia scored eight runs in the seventh run to beat Longwood 15-4 on Sunday at Foley Field.

After losing Friday, the Dogs (10-5) won the last two games of the series.

Nick King, Jared Walsh and Skyler Weber had three hits apiece for Georgia. Zack Bowers had a pair of hits, including a homer.

Freshman Ryan Avidano (2-0) got the win. He went seven innings and allowed four runs on 10 hits.

Georgia hosts Appalachian State at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Alabama 4, Lipscomb 3

MOBILE, Ala. -- Geoffrey Bramblett and two relievers combined on a three-hitter as Alabama beat Lipscomb 3-0 at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Bramblett started and went six innings, allowing just one hit. Jake Hubbard pitched two innings and Thomas Burrows pitched the ninth. Each gave up one hit.

Riley Colburn led the Tide at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Alabama (9-6) won the series opener Friday before losing 7-3 on Saturday.

The Tide hosts Alabama A&M at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Georgia tech 4, Notre dame 1

Brandon Gold pitched a shut out over eight innings to lead the Jackets to victory over Notre Dame Sunday.

Wade Bailey went 2-4 with a double and an RBI, and Matt Gonzalez went 2-3 gaining a triple and 2 RBI.

Georgia Tech host Georgia Southern Tuesday at 6 p.m.


The Tigers complete a series sweep of Xavier with a 10-6 win Sunday.

Cody Nulph had four hits and two RBI, while the team totaled a season-high of six double.

Auburn used eight pitchers, including four in the ninth.

Auburn hosts Samford Tuesday at 6 p.m.
