Auburn unable to finish sweep at Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Auburn couldn't finish the three-game sweep of Mississippi State on Sunday, losing 3-1.

The Tigers had won the first two games, 5-0 and 4-0.

John Holland got the Bulldogs on the board in the bottom of the second inning with a solo homer off Dalton Rentz (CVCC).

Keegan Thompson tied the game for the Tigers with a solo homer of his own in the top of the third.

The Bulldogs (19-11, 3-6 SEC) scored twice in the sixth as Wes Rae tripled in a run then scored on Ryan Gridley's single.

The Tigers play at Samford on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
