Columbus State tennis teams both win at Flagler


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Columbus State men's tennis team routed Flagler 8-1 on Sunday. The Lady Cougars also won, 5-4.

The eighth-ranked Cougars swept the doubles as the teams of Marco Almorin and Adi Malicbegovic, Maciej Kierkus and Martynas Zakaitis and Jorge Vargas and Oussama Zoghlami all won.

All of the Cougars (13-3, 6-2 Peach Belt Conference) won in singles with the exception of Zoghlami.

The ninth-ranked Lady Cougars won two doubles matches. The teams of Beatriz Leon and Giorgia Vitale and Kirsa Utech and Camila Tobar won their matches.

CSU (13-2, 9-1) went 3-3 in singles as Leon, Utech and Tobar won their matches.

The CSU tennis teams host Shorter at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
