LSU wins second straight against Alabama

HOOVER, Ala. -- Kade Scivicque and Andrew Stevenson drove in two runs apiece as LSU won its second straight over Alabama, 6-2 on Friday afternoon.

The Tigers scored three runs -- two coming on a Stevenson single -- in the top of the seventh inning to build a 5-0 lead.

J.C. Wilhite and Cody Henry had two hits and an RBI apiece to lead the Tide.

Mikey White also had two hits.

Will Carter suffered the loss.

Alabama lost 8-5 in the first game of the series on Thursday night in 16 innings. The game lasted 5:25 and was the longest game in Bama history.

Former Russell County players, Ray Castillo and Jay Shaw, both pitched. Castillo went for two-thirds of an inning and Shaw pitched one-third. Neither gave up a run.

Mikey White and Kyle Overstreet drove in two runs apiece.

Alabama (15-14, 4-7 SEC) and LSU (26-5, 7-4) will finish the series at 3 p.m. Saturday.
