CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Two Columbus State golfers competed in the first and second rounds of the UWG Invitational on Monday, one of whom placed herself within the top five heading into Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Courtney Lowery carded three-over par 75 in the first round and one-over 73 in the second to finish the day in a tie for fourth place at four-over overall. Senior Ciera Bagley join Lowery at the event, shooting eight-over 80 in the first round and 89 over the next 18 holes to finish in a tie for 39th place at the end of the day.
Arin Eddy of Montevallo currently holds the top spot at one-under par, three shots better than a pair tied at second place. With Eddy's help, Montevallo holds a one-stroke lead over fellow Peach Belt Conference contender Lander.
The tournament is being played at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton, Ga. The final 18 holes of the tournament will be played with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
