High school roundup: Central defeats Auburn 8-3 in softball

AUBURN, Ala. -- Central High trailed 2-1 after the first inning but five runs in the top of the fourth inning broke open a close game as the Red Devils beat Auburn High 8-3 in softball Wednesday night.

Central's Allie Kelley pitched the entire game, giving up nine hits and striking out eight. She did not walk a batter.

Katie Webb and Ashton Wicker each hit a double for Central.
