Former Columbus State soccer player Kelsey Pelletier has been nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.
Pelletier, who graduatred in May with a bachelor's degree in exercise science.
Pelletier was one of 480 nominees from the three division of the NCAA. The award honors graduating female athletes who have exhausted their eligibility. The award goes beyond on-field accomplishments to recognize the women for their work in academics, service and leadership.
Pelletier was named an All-American in 2014 and also earned Scholar All-American and Capital One Academic All-American honors. Leading the Lady Cougars to a 21-1-1 record and a trip to the NCAA quarterfinals, Pelletier scored nine goals and assisted on six others.
"Kelsey exemplifies everything we could want in a student-athlete," CSU soccer coach Jay Entlich said. "She was an outstanding player, as well as a terrific student and an even better person."
