These Columbus railroad crossings temporarily are closing. What it means for your commute

Norfolk Southern will begin repairs to several railroad crossings in Columbus in the upcoming weeks resulting in intermittent closures, the Columbus Consolidated Government announced Tuesday.

The work was scheduled to begin Wednesday and will continue through April, according to the news release. CCG said the closures are expected to last one day at some crossings, with some crossings requiring up to a three days of closure.

The following roads will be affected on these dates:

  • Shep Street — March 31
  • Ace Way Drive — March 31
  • Andrews Road — March 27
  • Brennan Road — March 27
  • Aldridge Road — March 26
  • Joy Road — March 26
  • Conner Road — March 26
  • Oakview Avenue — April 1-3
  • 10th Avenue — April 1-3
  • Fifth Avenue — April 7-9
  • Third Avenue — April 7-9.

“Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution and plan alternative routes during this time to avoid disruptions,” the news release says.
