Two events coming to the Columbus area this weekend will offer music, food and fun activities for the kids.

Riverfest will take place from 5-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday in Woodruff Park in Uptown Columbus, according to a news release. Admission will be $6 per day or $10 for a weekend pass. Tickets can be purchased online.

“RiverFest has been a Chattahoochee Valley favorite for decades. We are thrilled to host Riverfest with an exciting lineup of music and vendors. This family-friendly event is a staple for the region, and Uptown is eager to welcome both residents and visitors to the river once again,” said Tracy Green, director of communications and marketing of Uptown Columbus.

The event will feature food, kids’ vendors and live music. Friday’s music lineup is Frankie Mincey at 5:30 p.m. with D.S.O.S. (Deeper Shades of Soul) at 7:30 p.m., according to the release.

Saturday’s acts are Relative Sound at 5:30 p.m. followed by Departure: The Journey Tribute Band at 8 p.m., according to the news release.

If you haven’t had your fill of live music by Sunday, you can head east for MidTown GetDown. The free family-friendly concert will take place from 2-5 p.m. at the band shelter at Lakebottom Park.

The opening act will be the Midtown Dad Band followed by Dean Tovey and Friends, according to a flyer for the concert. The event will include a Diaper Derby at 3 p.m. and Ralph Betz’s art van, according to the flyer.
