Columbus woman dies in car accident on JR Allen Parkway, police say

One person is dead after an overnight car accident in Columbus, according to the Columbus Police Department.

A post Monday on the CPD X page says the accident happened on J.R. Allen Parkway near Schomburg Road.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victim as 42-year-old Candace Rush of Columbus. Bryan said Rush was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 a.m. Monday.

CPD’s motor squad is investigating, according to the post.
