A Phenix City woman died from a head-on crash in Russell County on Thursday night, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

ALEA said in a news release the crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 80 about three miles west of Phenix City.

ALEA identified the victim of the crash as Tiffany B. Petway, 31, of Phenix City. Petway died at the scene, ALEA said.

Petway was a passenger in a 2019 Kia Soul that collided head-on with a 2019 Nissan Sentra, according to ALEA.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra and the drive of the Kia Soul were transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional’s midtown hospital for treatment, according to ALEA.

No further information about the crash was available as ALEA continues to investigate, the news release says.
