Woman dies in Russell County car crash when car strikes culvert and overturns

A Seale woman died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday in Russell County, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency announced Thursday.

ALEA said Linda H. Bloszies, 75, died when the 2015 Honda CR-Z she was driving left the road, struck a culvert and overturned. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday on Lato Road near Harvest Drive, about 13 miles south of Phenix City, ALEA said.

No other information about the incident is available as state troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division were still investigating Thursday, the news release says.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said Boszies suffered blunt force trauma injuries. Sumbry said no autopsy will be done, but blood toxicology was done on the victim.
