The Epstein files mention Columbus, GA 125 times. Here’s what we found
Now that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has released more than 3 million documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, they are available to review online, and “Columbus, GA” appears 125 times.
The 125 mentions scatter across various record categories rather than clustering in any single narrative or document, and crucially, none implicate locals or confirm guilt.
Columbus, GA appears so frequently because it is home to (formerly named) Total System Services (TSYS, now Fidelity Information Services or FIS) and Synovus (now Pinnacle Financial), which serve clients across the country, and the Ledger-Enquirer did not examine each document individually. These findings are the search results from the DOJ’s Epstein Library page.
The Ledger-Enquirer reached out to the companies named in this article, but none of the representatives agreed to comment on the record.
However, it bears noting that the Gramm-Leach-Billey Act tightly controls how financial institutions disclose nonpublic personal information (NPI) like account numbers, balances or transaction histories — requiring clear notices and opt-out rights for customers.
