Accident at Double Churches and River Road in Columbus leaves 1 person dead

An accident Saturday in Columbus has left one person dead, according to officials.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said the accident happened at the intersection of River Road and Double Churches Road and claimed the life of Brantley Eli Satterfield, 31.

Satterfield was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 8:29 p.m. Saturday, according to Bryan.

Columbus Police Department public information officer Brittany Santiago told the Ledger-Enquirer the accident involved a vehicle and a motorcycle.

A post on the CPD X page says CPD’s Motor Squad is leading the investigation.
