Severe weather with hail, then big cold blast expected for Columbus soon. Here’s the forecast
Enjoy the 80-degree days while they last, folks. According to the National Weather Service, Columbus is in for some rough weather midweek, with severe storms possible before temperatures drop heading into the weekend.
Storm threat
A line of severe storms is expected to move into parts of western Georgia late Monday evening and into Tuesday morning.
Today and Tuesday:
- Damaging wind gusts
- Quarter-size hail
- Frequent lightning
- Heavy rainfall
- Brief, spin-up tornadoes can’t be ruled out
Midweek:
Rain will give way to a strong cold front Wednesday into Thursday with the possibility of more severe weather.

- Isolated strong to severe storms
- Rain chance of 75%
- Damaging wind gusts
- Frequent lightning
- Heavy rainfall
